1st Cor 9:24 - 'Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?  Run in such away that you may obtain it.'

Is it just me, or am I the only one to realize this truth concerning the kingdom of God...that truth is, there is always an explosion AT THE FINISH LINE!  Right when we are about to have breakthrough, right when there is a positive shift in our lives...BOOM! Doesn't that just tick you off?  What we must come to understand is the enemy doesn't fight fair, nor does he care about our feelings or personal welfare...he's simply out to kill, steal, and to destroy.

There are 2 main reasons why these explosions at the finish line are so deadly...one is our failure to maintain after a victory, and the other reason is, we really don't know what the enemy is after...

First of all my brothers and sisters in Christ, what you and I must be is on guard!  I'm reminded of Gideon in the choosing of his men for battle.  Judges 7: 4 - 8 speaks of God separating to Himself, men who drank at the brook a certain way.  Those that lapped the water like dogs were sent home, and those who cupped the water in their hands were selected for battle...why? Reason is, they didn't abandon themselves to refreshing, they kept their eyes on the enemy lines...this prevented them from being put off guard.

Secondly, you and I must understand what the devil is truly after.  He's after our faith!  Oswald Chambers said, 'The devil is not out to get you to do bad things necessarily, he's out to change your point of view...'  His aim is our faith, never forget that!  Luke 4: 13 says, 'Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.'  If you read the temptations of Jesus from the devil, each one was aimed at assaulting His trust in God...it is the same with you and me.

So you can see, it's really not about your demise, or poor circumstances, it's truly about how you view your God while going through these things...that's his aim.  Unfortunately, the precious people of Boston MA, suffered an attack beyond their control...I simply wanted to make the application that at the finish line, or after a mighty victory we become the most vulnerable...Matt. 13: 25...'while men slept..'

Can we please be instant in season, and out of season - ready for whatever the enemy may try to throw our way?  I want to be found ready, when he comes.
